Folk Names: Joy of the Mountains, Marjorlaine, Wintersweet, Sweet Marjoram, Mountain Mint

Magickal Uses: Associated with air and the planet Mercury, marjoram brings protection and love. It also helps attract happiness, health, money and peace. It can be used to clean magickal objects and ritual spaces.
Folk Remedy Uses: Used for treating asthma [related to breath, therefore air], indigestion, rheumatism, toothache, conjuctivitis. It’s said to have some minor antioxidant and antifungal properties.

Folk Names: Juno’s Tears, Witches Herb, Herb of Grace, Sacred Boughs, Pigeon’s Grass, Enchanter’s Plant, Holy Herb, Pigeonwood, Vervan, Van-Van, Verbena.

Magickal Uses: Associated with earth and the planet Venus, vervain empowers any magick. It brings love, purification, and protection and helps promote sleep, money, peace, healing. It’s an excellent plant for cleansing baths and ritual tools. Hanging it over your bed is said to prevent nightmares and promote quick learning. It is also associate with the crucifixion of Christ; according to folk lore, marjoram was pressed into the wounds on Jesus’ side to stop the bleeding.

Folk Remedy Uses: Vervain is said to have broad healing powers to soothe a wide range of aliments.
