The High Priestess’ animal: dog

I found the dog correspondence difficult to reconcile with what I know of the High Priestess, until I found a page at Spirit Walk Ministry – Spirit Animals and Animal Totems which described the qualities of the aboriginal dog. According to this page, the aboriginal dog symbolizes duality, intuition and harmony among different states of being or planes of existence. As a spirit guide, the aboriginal dog also has connections with the full moon and with rebirth of the soul. Note that “aboriginal dog” doesn’t refer to just to the Australian dingo. It covers all types of “primitive” dogs, including Russian Laikas and African Basenji.

In the Chinese zodiac, the dog frequently offers good advice and a shoulder to cry on, if you need it. Chinese dogs are determined people who seek to master something before they move on to a new project, idea, or area of study.
