Action ► Fruit—anthelmintic; used in skin diseases.
The leaves and seeds gave tetranor-triterpenoids, compositin and com-positolide. The fruit gave salannin. The heartwood yielded a triterpenoid.
Tamil and Malyalam synonyms (Malaivembu and Malavembu) are common to Melia azedarach and Melia composita.
