wall in response lo light tactilc stimulation. The segmental innervation of the reflex arc ranges from approximately TX to T12.

The normal response is for (he umbilicus to either elevate or depress and move laterally towards the quadrant of stimulation.

This reflex can be elicited easily in children and young adults but becomes much more sluggish in the elderly, the obese and after childbirth.
