Gematria
What is gematria?
It’s a type of numerology. “A system by which hidden truths and meanings are discovered within words. Each letter of an alphabet corresponds to a number. Numerical values of words are totaled up and then these words are said to correspond with other words sharing the same numerical value.” (from Gematria).
The gematria number is only useful in comparison, not as a stand-alone. You can use a variety of language systems for it, one of the most common being Hebrew. It seems likely that the number listed on tarot correspondence charts is the gematria equivalent of the Hebrew letter associated with that card. Robin’s Links to the Metaphysical Internet provides a database where you can enter a gematria number and it will return other words of the same number which, by the nature of gematria, will be equivalent to the number or phrase you entered.
Gon
Gon stands for Gematria of Nothing, a modern gematria system based on Chaos theory. My guess is that, given the large volume of answers returned from the Gon queries, you’re bound to find at least some results that fit the term(s) you’re searching for.
